Gus Russelman: Professional Gamer

As many of you know I’ve been working in the entertainment industry as of late, mainly in the area of webseries/webtv.  Aside from my show Melts In Your Pocket I decided I wanted to contribute to the over all community that I am a part of.

I can talk the talk and have loved getting to know so many other talented people who have created/produced series.  People I look up to and admire.  Now it’s time to walk the walk.  Can I produce something that is on par of what my peers are doing and gather an audience that likes my work?

Piece by Piece

In a vain attempt to gussy up the blog I’ve made a lot of really small changes.

One attempt, did somewhat self destruct the blog for a few hours in the middle of the night last night.

Thanks to Daniel Nasserian (@angryweb) for his help, not only fixing things, but being an awesome web host (for this site and MiYP) and being a great friend on top of it all.

Click “…hold the phone, there’s more” to see all of the little upgrades that I’ve done and the little tips and tricks to having a better experience on this blog.

HTTM

About to sit down and watch Hot Tub Time Machine.

Been excited for this for a while.  It hopefully involves a vein of funny that isn’t always found in most comedy movies and has somewhat of an indescribable feel to it.  Kinda like the first time you saw Napoleon Dynamite and all you could say was just go see this.  I can’t explain the funny it just is, and you have to see it to know what I’m talking about.

Review to come later.
(Update: review after the break)

ala-kazam

I ran across this video while on MacRumors.com, (my daily site for all things mac).

The short of it is that Photoshop is testing a new feature to be implemented in a future version of the software.

Click through to see the video and read some of my thoughts.

Robots In Love

I am always a fan of great cinema.  I might go as far as saying I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to movies.

That being said, there are times when something so simple, can be so intricate at the same time.

One of my all time favorite directors, some may say, visionary, is Spike Jonze.  Having come from the humble beginnings of the music video world, he never ceases to amaze me with his ability to think so far outside the box, you end up waning to live inside of his box, because it just feels so right.  His latest project can be found at imheremovie.com

crawl -> walk -> run

This freelance job I’ve been doing the past few nights has gotten me thinking about how we as a society have all but abolished the idea of learning under the watchful eye of a master.

There’s a part of me that wonders what it would be like to sit at the feet of someone who had been doing the same thing all their life and learn from their experiences. …hold the phone, there's more

fingers + keys

I’ve been thinking a lot about the writing process…

Let me back up a bit.  If you are unaware I am involved with a number of webseries and web video content creation.  This has led to me to try my hand at what more or less can be called screenwriting.  The only problem is that I hate re-doing work.

Ever since I can remember I have been a one draft pony.  I consider myself fairly smart and able to think well on my feet.  Therefore I usualy over look the need to make sure what I have said is clear and well thought through.  Most of the time it is just a battle to get the words out of my head and onto paper or keys before I forget what I was going to say.  To stop and review what I have said would almost make me lose track of where I was going next with my thoughts. …hold the phone, there's more

MiYP – Tasting

In addition to this blog, I’ve begun work again on Melts In Your Pocket.  What?!?! You don’t know what MiYP is?  It’s my chocolate bar review show.

While it’s not a *true episode, it’s some fun content.

Head over to www.MeltsInYourPocket.com to see the latest.

New episodes will start airing soon.  Keep your eyes peeled.

New look, same great taste.

Hello everyone, I’m proud to announce the return of my blog, Doogie Howser Did It, So Why Not Me?

For a long time I wanted to redo the look of the old blog.  It had gotten stale, hard to read, too cluttered.

I was waiting for the relaunch of andrewseely.com which I wanted to be a clean landing page (which it is now) and to follow suit we have a clean simple template to host the blog. …hold the phone, there's more
